To continuously produce and distribute animal feeds of superior quality that will consistently give our customers maximum value and provide stakeholders with an optimal return.

Objectives

We, at Meaders, aim at producing superior quality feeds for farm animals and pets and satisfy our customers’ needs by providing a strong and up to date technical support, making use of the latest technologies whilst continually striving to provide safe working conditions and striving to reduce our impact on the environment.

About Us

The company which was established in 1992 continues to meet the expectations of its customers. It offers feeds for different types of animals. The company is supplying our local market since 1994. In fact, it is one of the leading companies in the agro-industrial sector of the island. It has as its main customers: lnnodis, lnicia, Poulet Arc-en-Ciel, Mont Ida Poultry,  Volailles & Traditions Limitée and over 400 other customers in Mauritius only. Meaders Feeds Ltd regional markets are, namely Rodrigues, Seychelles, Comoros, Mayotte, Reunion Island, and Madagascar. lnnodis Ltd & lnicia Ltée are the major shareholders of the company. With annual sales of more than 100,000 tonnes, its production unit is one of the most modern in the Indian Ocean. The company has two production lines which are fully automated, and all processes are strictly controlled during the different phases of the production process. 

Meaders Feeds Ltd manufactures feeds in mash, crumbles, and pellets for all types of farm animals, namely: poultry (broilers and laying hens), cattle and dairy cows, pigs, goats, rabbits, and ducks. The products are sold under the following brand names: Premium Broiler, Premium Layer, Ruminant Plus, Pig Munch, MeadPLUS, MeadLICK, Meaders Ti Pake.

Quality and international standards

Much stress is laid on the quality which remains the backbone of its operation. Meaders Feeds Ltd conforms to the standards of the African Feeds Manufacturers Association (AFMA) and is certified ISO 22000:2018 by the Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS). The company, therefore, meets all the international standards required for a quality system that offers satisfaction and trust in its products and services. 

Meaders Feeds Ltd is a member of the Association of Mauritian Manufacturers (AMM) and has adhered to the collective brand ‘Made in Moris’, thus promoting the Mauritian brands. Meaders Feeds Ltd has been awarded the trophy of the Mauritius Business Excellence Award (2010) for its excellent achievement in a highly competitive economy. Additionally, the Gold Trophy of the Exporters Award (2014) in the Large Enterprise category was awarded to Meaders Feeds Ltd for its innovative approach toward exports.

Founded following partnership between Rogers & Co. Ltd and Société Wiehe & Montocchio Cie (today Inicia Ltd). Van Aarsen International, chosen as main contractor for the erection of the factory to be the most modern of the Indian Ocean.

1993
Construction of Factory

April to December

1994
Production

Production of animal feeds started and delivered under the brand name Meadow. Annual production increased from 10000 to 25000 Tonnes.

1998
Development

Acquired new shareholders’ clients. Built maize & soya bean meal silos. Production rate increased to 15 tonnes per hour that doubled production to 50,000 tonnes annually.

2003
Modernisation of factory

Third phase: new maize silos of 5,000 tonnes capacity. Modernization of factory and production processes were automated. Production increased to 65,000 tonnes annually.

2012
New production line

Installation of a second production line with capacity of 20 tonnes per hour and a weighbridge for delivery lorries. Increased capacity storage to 14,000 tonnes for raw materials & 500 tonnes for finished products.

2014
20 years & expansion

Celebrated its 20 years’ anniversary in May. Create a subsidiary company in Seychelles, Meaders (Seychelles) Ltd, in October.

2015
Rebranding and new strategy

Carried out a rebranding exercise with a new logo and tagline with the following main objectives: To give the company a fresh corporate image aligned with its new brand strategy. To reposition the company in the animal feeds’ market. To distinguish the company from its competitors. To reinforce the company’s relationship with its customers.

2017
MeadShop

Opened our first MeadShop 'Le Coin des Eleveurs' outlet  at Triolet .Its strategic positioning is geared towards easing accessibility to ordering and purchases with the touch of enhancing brand visibility and to provide a ‘One Stop Shop’  to farmers and other animal lovers by offering a wide selection of products range.

2019-2023
25 years & MeadShop expansion

Celebrated its 25 years in May. We have 5 MeadShops operating around the island to accompany local farming communities in respective regions.
